Cookie policy

Which cookies and tools the Ontia Labs website uses, which ones need your consent, how long they last, and how to change your choice at any time.

Draft awaiting legal review. This text has not yet been checked by a lawyer.

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. This page explains which ones we use, what for, and how you can change your choice. Article 5 of Portuguese Law 41/2004 of 18 August, as amended, applies. Personal data linked to these cookies is handled as set out in the privacy policy. The Portuguese version of this policy is the governing version.

On your first visit, the site shows a notice with three options: "Accept all", "Decline non-essential" and "Customise". Under "Customise" you can switch each service on or off individually.

No statistics or measurement tool is loaded before you give your consent. Google Consent Mode starts every visit with all categories denied, and Google's script loads only after you allow it.

The notice lists only the tools that are active on the site at that moment.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies need no consent, because the site needs them to work or to respect your choice.

  • arqm_consent: stores your cookie choice and the date of the decision. It lasts one year. The same information is also kept in your browser's local storage.
  • NEXT_LOCALE: remembers the site language when it differs from your browser's language. It is deleted when you close the browser.
  • admin_session: used only in the management area reserved for the Ontia Labs team. Visitors never receive it.

The Cal.com booking calendar

The calendar for booking a call is provided by Cal.com and loads on the contact page and when you use a booking button. When it loads, Cal.com may store information in your browser so that the calendar works.

Google Analytics and Google Ads

Google Analytics gives us site statistics, such as the pages viewed and how visitors arrive. When Google Ads is switched on, it measures the conversions from our campaigns. Both run through the same Google script and share a single consent option.

According to Google's documentation, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_ followed by the property identifier, both lasting two years by default.

LinkedIn Insight Tag

It appears in the notice only when it is switched on. It measures LinkedIn campaign conversions and sets a cookie that may be linked to your LinkedIn account if you are signed in.

HubSpot

It records the pages you view and can link those visits to details you send in a form on this site. The code is loaded from HubSpot's European data centre. According to HubSpot's documentation, its tracking code sets:

  • __hstc: identifies the visitor and stores visit times. It lasts six months.
  • hubspotutk: identifies the visitor and is sent with form submissions to avoid duplicate contacts. It lasts six months.
  • __hssc: tracks the session. It lasts 30 minutes.
  • __hssrc: shows whether the browser has been restarted. It is deleted at the end of the session.

How to change your choice

You can change your choice at any time with the "Manage cookies" button in the footer of every page. The notice opens again and you can accept, decline or customise.

When you withdraw consent, the page reloads and the tools are no longer loaded. Cookies those tools have already stored stay in your browser until they expire, unless you delete them in your browser settings.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, the site may no longer remember your choice.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when we add or remove tools. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page.
