Ontia Labs, formerly Arqmetrica

Ontia Labs helps Portuguese companies of 10 to 250 people use AI in their daily work. We train the people who will use it, build the tools on systems the company already pays for and, after launch, go on looking after them.

A small map of a company: clients, orders and invoices joined in a triangle, with the price list, the people and the procedures connected to them.

Ontia

Say it ON-tee-a.

The name comes from ontologia, the map of what a company knows and how things connect, and it ends in IA.

Work delivered as Arqmetrica

Rules we keep on every project

  • Built on what you already pay for

We work on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, with mainstream AI and automation tools. We only propose a new platform when a task justifies it, and we explain why before going ahead.

  • Your data stays in your accounts

The tools run in your company's own accounts, and we use your data only for your project. Before we start building, we sign a GDPR data-processing agreement with you.

  • Independent

No software vendor pays us commission, so we choose tools for what the task needs.

  • Work we turn down

We do not build tools that screen job applicants or assess the creditworthiness of individuals, two uses the AI Act classes as high-risk.

Legal support

When a project needs legal support (GDPR, the AI Act, contracts), we work with lawyers who provide it.

Who does the work

Ontia Labs is led by Dr Jorge Campos, who founded Arqmetrica in Porto. He runs each project with the engineers who build the tools, and brings in specialists, or the lawyers we work with, when the work calls for them.
